Does the Red or Blue Choice Matter in Pokemon Emerald?
Yes. This choice determines whether Latias or Latios appears, and you can only get one during normal gameplay.
What Happens
After becoming Champion, at the start of the post-game, you see a TV report about a mysterious Pokémon.
Right after that, your mom asks what color the Pokémon was.
- Choosing Red makes Latias appear as a roaming Pokémon
- Choosing Blue makes Latios appear as a roaming Pokémon
Once you choose, the other one will not appear in your game during normal gameplay.
This choice is permanent.
Important
You can only get one during normal gameplay.
The other is only available through the Eon Ticket.
Why This Feels Risky
The game does not explain what this choice affects.
It also does not name the Pokémon, so it feels like a blind decision.
Because of that, it is easy to think you might miss something permanently without knowing what it is.
